Lisa Fastenberg, Ph.D., associate professor and chairperson of the Mathematics Department in the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at 91��Ƶ in Pleasantville, has been appointed to 91��Ƶ’s Board of Trustees.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91��Ƶ is pleased to announce that Keith Engel, a seasoned expert in tax policy, will join the faculty as a Visiting Professor for the Spring 2024 semester. During his time at Haub Law, Professor Engel will teach Corporations & Partnerships and Tax Policy. Engel is currently Chief Executive Officer for the South African Institute of Taxation and an adjunct tax professor at the University of Witswatersrand.

91��Ƶ is pleased to announce the establishment of the Gale Epstein Center for Technology, Policy, and the Environment, made possible by a significant gift from Gale Epstein, a New York City-based philanthropist and business leader. The new center is housed in the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems.

On December 6, 2024, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91��Ƶ hosted the 23rd annual Alfred B. DelBello Land Use and Sustainable Development Conference. This year’s theme, Fostering the Development of Sustainable Communities through Innovative Strategies, brought together hundreds of attorneys, professionals, and local leaders to discuss best practices in land use and sustainable development.

91��Ƶ was recently awarded $476,000 from the to support a three-year interdisciplinary initiative, Islands, Archipelagos, and Cultural Ecologies. The project will advance environmental justice and the environmental humanities at 91��Ƶ, building on the university’s strengths in experiential learning and place-based education.

91��Ƶ’s Federal Reserve Challenge Team continues its legacy of excellence, winning the competition and ranking in the top five nationally out of 119 participating institutions— the largest in the competition’s history. The team also received an honorable mention as national finalists, competing against prestigious schools such as Harvard, Princeton, and the University of Michigan.

Professor Jill I. Gross, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and a distinguished faculty member of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at 91��Ƶ , is shedding light on the past and future of arbitration law with her newest book, The Federal Arbitration Act: Successes, Failures, and a Roadmap for Reform.

When toured 91��Ƶ’s Cyber Range, she greeted each student with a handshake and call to action in safeguarding our national security: “You’re learning something very important for our country.”

The senator from New York – joined by lawmakers, students, university leadership, and business leaders – was in Pleasantville on November 15, 2024 to see first-hand that teaches students to be on the front-lines of defending against as cyber-attack.

91��Ƶ Art Gallery presents Critical Connections: Protest Photography Past + Present, in collaboration with — a movement designed to create Black and Asian solidarity through mutual education and celebration. The exhibition opens with a free public reception on Thursday, November 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A coalition of lawmakers, small business groups, and entrepreneurs came together recently to celebrate the expansion of 91��Ƶ’s on-site small business counseling services to Flatbush, Brooklyn.
