My studio is a space of experimental curiosity and I bring that sprit into my classroom where my students make their own discoveries and find their own voices.
Derek Stroup is an artist based New York with exhibitions in museums and galleries in the United States and Europe. He has a BA from Williams College and an MFA from the University of California, San Diego.
Trained as a sculptor, my recent large-scale photographic prints on canvas bring a sculptural sense of size and material to photography. My photographs originate in the weedy margins of New York City where I document ecosystems that thrive in flux.
