John C. Lettera
Biography
Adjunct Professor John C. Lettera has over 25 years of legal experience and over 30 years experience in real estate debt originations and acquisitions, as well as equity investing. Professor Lettera has founded and successfully managed two financing funds, and has structured complex private equity transactions, including early-stage venture capital and mezzanine financings, growth equity and leveraged and management buyouts.
From 1999 to 2005, Professor Lettera was an Associate at the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where he represented public and private clients in a range of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, asset sales, restructurings, going-private transactions and leveraged buyouts, equity and debt financings, debtor in possession financing, creditor committee representation and structuring private equity funds.
Professor Lettera has extensive experience in real estate litigation as well as structuring complex real estate debt transactions. Professor Lettera is the founding member of Fairbridge Asset Management, a vertically integrated real estate private equity firm focused on US-based commercial real estate debt and equity strategies.
Professor Lettera has received extensive recognition for his contributions to the legal, commercial real estate, hedge fund and finance community, including being the honored recipient of Elisabeth Haub School of Law鈥檚 Leadership Award and Empowerment Award and the American Bar Associations Professor Roundtable. Professor Lettera proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
