Biography

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

Dr. Julia Eisenberg is an Associate Professor and the Undergraduate Program Chair in the Management and Management Science Department. She earned her Ph.D. in Management from the Rutgers Business School, with a focus on organizational behavior. Her research interests include leadership, innovation, knowledge sharing, collaboration among geographically distributed individuals and teams, and the effects of technology affordances such as social media. She has over ten years of experience in the financial industry, having worked for Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Private Bank, and Morgan Stanley as a product developer and a manager in the technology and finance divisions. She joined the Lubin School of Business in 2014. Dr. Eisenberg’s teaching interests include individual, team, and organizational trends and she teaches undergraduate, MS, MBA, and doctoral courses including Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership, and Negotiations. Dr. Eisenberg is the recipient of the prestigious 2023 Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence, Pleasantville.

Dr. Eisenberg is actively involved in student-focused activities, from organizing events to being a guest speaker and panel moderator at university and student-led events. She is also one of the CEO Faculty Partners. Dr. Eisenberg often engages in career-related discussions with students, using her industry background to help guide their decisions. She also works on various research projects involving honors and doctoral students.

Dr. Eisenberg continually attends yearly domestic and international management conferences to present her research and stay abreast of the latest developments. In 2016, a paper co-authored by Dr. Eisenberg received the best paper award at the International Conference on Communication and Media. In 2018, Dr. Eisenberg was one of the recipients of the Distinguished Research Award from the Institute for Global Business Research. In 2019, a paper co-authored by Dr. Eisenberg received the Academy of Management Careers Division Best International Paper award.

Dr. Eisenberg is also actively involved in service-related activities. She is on the boards of the Eastern Academy of Management and the Hudson River Watershed Alliance. She has organized multiple Professional Development Workshops to facilitate discussions to advance the state of the art related to teamwork across a range of various settings. Dr. Eisenberg serves as an associate editor for the Journal of International Management and for the Asia Pacific Management Review Journal. She is also a reviewer for the Organization Science Journal, Journal of International Management, Human Resources Management Review Journal, Small Group Research Journal, Organizational Management Journal, and has also served as a reviewer for multiple conferences and book chapters. Dr. Eisenberg also serves on multiple committees at 91Ƶ.
