Biography
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
Dr. McGuigan is a Clinical Professor in the Management Department and the Director of the Doctoral Programs whose research covers management education, innovation, and processes related to decision-making. He joined the Lubin School of Business in 2012 and has served as faculty advisor for a social fraternity, and is a member of the Delta Sigma professional fraternity. Enjoys advising undergraduate students and facilitating the freshman university experience. Dr. McGuigan served as the Program Evaluation Chair of the Management Education and Development Section of the Academy of Management.
Dr. McGuigan has served as a journal reviewer for the Journal of Journal of Entrepreneurship Education since 2014. In the past, he has also served as a reviewer for the Organizational Behavioral Teaching Conference (OBTC), The Academy of Management (AOM), The Eastern Academy of Management (EAM), and Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management (IBAM), other journals and Dr. McGuigan serves as the editor of the Management & Leadership section of the Society of Financial Services Professionals since 2015. He also contributes to the International Risk Management Institutes.
To remain professionally engaged Dr. McGuigan is engaged with the Society of Financial Services Professionals and the CPCU Society. Additionally, he also consults to the insurance industry on best practices and emergent trends. He maintains the Chartered Life Management Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certifications, and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.
