Course Registration Waitlist

We are happy to announce the continuation and expansion of Course Registration Waitlists for Spring 2025 Registration, with a number of programs/departments across the University adding the waitlisting functionality to their courses to support a smoother and more informed registration process for our students.

Students should note that waitlisting is only available for courses in departments that have opted to use this functionality. Students must still satisfy any/all applicable course restrictions, including requisites, to be able to join a course waitlist. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee a spot in any course.

  • Please note: If you are not fully registered for at least 12 credits, your financial aid that requires full-time enrollment will not disburse/be reflected against your semester tuition bill until you are registered for a minimum of 12 credits. The course(s) you are waitlisted for does not count towards your enrolled credit total.

Waitlist Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I know what courses are closed?
When searching for courses, in the 91视频 Portal Student Registration Module, please look at the "Status" column. Courses with no remaining seats will have a "FULL!" indicator. Students who have placed themselves on the waitlist will be notified if a spot becomes available. They will then have 24 hours to register for that class. If they choose not to register the available seat will be offered to the next student on the waitlist.

How do I get into a waitlist course?
After some courses become full and close to new registrants, students may have an option to place themselves on a waitlist for that course. The waitlist is an automated process. Seniors have higher priority than juniors and so on. The waitlist period ends one week prior to the start of each semester. The waitlist period ends on the last day of the first week of classes (final Add without permission deadline). If you are offered a seat, you must drop any potential time conflict and be sure there is room for the waitlisted course credit load.

If I get selected from the waitlist how much time do I have to register?
An email notification will be sent to your 91视频 email account. Once notified, you will have a deadline of 24 hours to register for the course. It is important that you check your 91视频 email frequently if you are on a waitlist for a class. Once the 24 hour deadline to register has passed the seat will be offered to the next student on the waitlist and you will lose the offer. If you lose the seat, you must re-register yourself for the waitlist course again.

When does the waitlist process end?
The waitlist ends on the last day of the first week of classes (final Add without permission deadline).

When does the waitlist process end?
The waitlist ends on the last day of the first week of classes.

How do course restrictions work for waitlisting?
Restrictions work the same as regular registration. Students must meet all of the course requirements, requisites, and restrictions in order to sign-up for a waitlist.

Can students get on the waitlist for more than one section of the same course?
Yes. Students can waitlist themselves for more than one section of the same course.

Is there a way for students to see their position on the waitlist?
Yes, a student's position on the waitlist is displayed on the Schedule Details tab of their Registration page in 91视频 Portal.

  • Please Note: Students' positions on the waitlist are dynamic and NOT first come, first serve. Students' positions on the waitlist are determined by their individual academic class standing and positions are subject to change based on the class standing of students who continue to join the waitlist, even if at a later date/time.

Can students get on a waitlist for a class that has a time conflict with another course?
Yes, the waitlist is not an actual registration. Students can waitlist for sections with which they have day or time conflict. However, once a student is selected from the waitlist they must drop all potential conflicts and be sure there is room for the waitlisted course credit load on their student account.

If a student has a hold on their account, can they add to a waitlist?
No. The same restrictions apply to the waitlist that apply to registering for a course. Any holds have to be cleared in order to waitlist and register for courses.

I am an instructor/faculty. How can I view the students on a waitlist in my course?
Instructors can view the students waitlisted in their courses when they view the class roster via the 91视频 Portal. A is available for review.
