91ÊÓƵ Education Abroad prioritizes the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Studying and traveling abroad requires many of the same health and safety precautions that one would take in the U.S.A. However, participants need to be aware of additional risks that may be unique to traveling abroad and living in a particular country or region.
91ÊÓƵ Education Abroad monitors international security and maintains regular communication with in-country faculty leaders, partner institutions, and program providers. In the event of an emergency, 91ÊÓƵ will work swiftly to identify the location of program participants and immediately initiate communication with the necessary parties, taking action as the situation warrants.
From getting your passport to packing, the information on this page will assist you in preparing for your adventure abroad!
91ÊÓƵ Abroad recognizes and supports a diverse student population on its study abroad programs. Matters of personal identity can impact all students on a study abroad program. For some, it may be the first time you are a minority in your community. For others, you might notice you are getting attention based on your identity either in a positive or negative way. It is important to remember that you have control over your response to these situations.
91ÊÓƵ offers study abroad programs with different financial models and duration. 91ÊÓƵ is committed to high academic standards, and your student will work with a Study Abroad Advisor in tandem with their 91ÊÓƵ Academic Advisor to ensure that their study abroad program is the right fit personally and academically. We work with students to ensure that individual needs and concerns are addressed–before, during, and after their study abroad experience. Finally, we offer parents and families an opportunity to attend a dedicated Parent & Family Study Abroad Pre-departure Session (hosted virtually by 91ÊÓƵ Education Abroad twice yearly), so that they can better understand how their students should prepare for study abroad and how best to support their students going abroad.
91ÊÓƵ provides qualified students the option to study in a variety of approved international destinations during their degree. This opportunity is extended to qualified 91ÊÓƵ students in all academic majors, subject to availability of existing programs and resources, and with approval of their academic unit. All 91ÊÓƵ-sanctioned study abroad endeavors – including study, spring break, and/or any other international programs representing 91ÊÓƵ (with the exception of Athletics) – must adhere to these policies and procedures.
