A life-long New Yorker, Vice Dean and Professor Jill Gross started her career in 鈥淏igLaw鈥 before falling in love with teaching and transitioning to a career in academia. Twenty-six years later, Dean Gross has taught generations of students at Haub Law and taken on the important role of overseeing Academic Affairs for the Law School. A first-generation immigrant from Suriname, South America who is fluent in Dutch, Professor Salihah Denman is the first person in her family to become a lawyer in the United States. She attended Howard University School of Law and obtained an LLM from American University鈥檚 Washington College of Law. Her passion for academia and working with students has been a driving force throughout her career.
Professor Jonathan Brown joined the Haub Law faculty in 2016 and is Professor of Law for Designated Project or Service and Director and Founder of the School's Food and Farm Business Law Clinic, which launched in January 2017. The Food and Farm Business Law Clinic provides pro bono transactional legal services to small farm businesses, artisan food manufacturers, craft beverage entrepreneurs, and related nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining the Haub Law faculty, Professor Brown was a Clinical Lecturer in Law and Eugene Ludwig/Robert M. Cover Fellow in Law at Yale Law School, where he co-taught in the Community and Economic Development Clinic. Previously, he was also a senior associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, in New York.

Growing up in Vermont, Professor Jessica Miles鈥檚 family struggled financially. 鈥淔rom a young age, I was always very concerned with issues related to poverty and income inequality. It spurred my interest in government and politics. By the time I was a teenager, I was actively working on political campaigns.鈥
Professor Leslie Tenzer started her journey at Haub Law in 1986 as a Lecturer of Law, before joining officially as a professor in 1990. Most recently, Professor Tenzer was named the Luk-Cummings Family Faculty Scholar (2021鈥2023) and the James D. Hopkins Professor of Law (2019鈥2021).
Professor Barbara Atwell joined the faculty at Haub Law in 1986. A health law teacher and scholar, she was also appointed as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in 2009. Prior to joining Haub Law, she clerked in the sixth circuit and worked as an associate with Arnold and Porter. Now, in her 38th year of teaching at Haub Law, Professor Atwell enjoys all of the courses she teaches, with Bioethics and Medical Malpractice having a slight edge as her favorite.
