Professional Development Program

All Haub Law students are required to fulfill a Professional Development Requirement in order to graduate. Students will satisfy the requirement by:

  • Attending at least one individual meeting with a counselor from the Center for Career and Professional Development (鈥淐CPD鈥) during the first semester of their first year at the Law School
  • Attending at least one in-office meeting with a CCPD counselor during their final year in law school
  • Earning six (6) professional development (鈥淧D鈥) credits, in addition to their academic credits, before graduating from law school (At least one of the 6 PD credits must be diversity-based, as designated by the CCPD)
  • Completing the post-graduation employment form before graduation, as requested by the CCPD
  • In order to receive PD credit at a Haub Law PD Accredited Program, you MUST:

    • Sign in AND out of each event
    • Attend the entire program (in person)

Students may also earn PD credit by attending law school-sponsored Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs that are offered virtually. In order to receive PD credit for attending a law school CLE program virtually, students will be required to submit a Law Student Affirmation Form that certifies that the student attended the full program and provides the program code(s) displayed or read during the program. WBCA or other external CLE programs are not eligible for PD Credit

In order to receive PD credit at a law school-sponsored CLE program, you MUST:

    • Attend the entire program (in person or virtually)
    • Sign in AND out for any program attended in person
    • Complete the Law Student Affirmation Form provided by the program organizer for any program attended online. Submit the Law Student Affirmation Form to Debra M. Burg at dburg@law.pace.edu.

*Please check your Haub Law email for up-to-date program information, including dates, times, and rooms. New programs will often be added, so please check the list along with your email, regularly.

        • The event includes time for interaction between attendees and speaker(s).

The above guidelines for DBL PD Credits are for planning purposes and do not constitute strict requirements. Each proposal will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

    2. Process for Approval of Student Group PD Credit Events

The meeting can take place over the phone, on Zoom, or in person.
      • Student groups should submit a Student Organization PD Credit Application to the Assistant Dean for Career and Professional Development at least 2 weeks prior to the event date.
      • Students seeking approval for a DBL PD credit will require the approval of the Law School鈥檚 Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
